T&FH Ward Plan

Uniting Families for the Eternities

We will strive to cultivate ward members of all ages to actively engage in Temple & Family History work. We guide each other along the covenant path back to our Heavenly Father; fostering spiritual growth and unity within families. “…whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven…” Matthew 16:19

  1. Increase overall awareness of Temple and Family History work in the ward through classes, talks, temple trips, and ward activities. Ensure that each member 11 years and older has an active FamilySearch account and is a part of the Sandy Midvalley Family Group, thus increasing our Members Logging-in to at least 105.
  2. Increase Members Submitting This Year to 60—Encourage regular temple attendance of ward members by sponsoring temple trips through auxiliaries and quorums. Encourage members to take their own family names or take one from the Sandy Midvalley Family Group.
  3. Establish a quarterly schedule for youth baptisms. Train them to use Ordinances Ready to obtain family names and enroll them in the Sandy Midvalley Family Group to help other stake members with baptisms.
  4. Work with newly baptized members, 11 years and older, to secure family names for temple baptisms shortly after their baptism and receiving a limited use recommend.
  5. Increase First Four Generations of Ancestors in the Tree from 49.8% to 55%—Provide opportunities for ward members to research and build their family tree. Continue to offer third-Sunday one-on-one classes during Sunday School time. Support research classes taught at FamilySearch Center on fourth-Tuesday evenings. Provide individualized training as needed.
  6. Hold family history topic classes the first Sunday of each month during the Sunday School block. Alternating teaching Sister Marette Monson and Sister Kathy Borgogno. These classes focus on building individual’s family trees.
  7. Increase Number of Individuals Indexing to 10 and meet the 50,000 records indexing—Offer instruction and learning opportunities to teach and encourage individual ward members. Hold indexing classes for the ward, classes, and quorums.
  8. Under the Bishopric’s direction provide a Temple Preparation class. The ward Council should make recommendations of individuals from their organization to invite. Provide follow-up instructions to those who have recently made temple covenants.
  9. Identify members and extend invitations to serve in the temple.
